Description of service:
École Yaldei School offers a specialized educational program targeting students aged 4-18 with developmental delays and moderate, severe and profound intellectual impairment. Our mission is to promote autonomy and development, and to enable each child to reach his or her potential. Our innovative programs, our caring staff, our partnership with the Donald Berman Yaldei Developmental Center, parents and the community, enable every student to grow socially, cognitively, physically and emotionally in a safe and caring environment.
Yaldei Special Education Teacher:
- Yaldei is looking for competent and confident individuals that are eager and willing to teach in a classroom and/or group setting.
Responsibilities and Duties
Skills and abilities required:
- Preferably have experience working with young children.
- Playful, interactive and flexible.
- Physically strong: be able to lift and carry a child.
- Be ready to change diapers and clean after messy activities.
- Self -starter who can take initiative and be a team player.
Qualifications and Skills
Requirements:
- Quebec certified teacher or person having at least a bachelor’s degree in relevant field and some knowledge of the QEP programs involved.
- Must have some experience with special needs population – especially dealing with the intellectually challenged.
- Must have a Brevet certificate.
- Self -starter who can take initiative and be a team player.
- CV and references necessary.
